The Institute of Pathological Anatomy is an independent workplace with its own teaching, scientific and research-related activities.
The Institute’s teaching activities focus on regular and pathological anatomy, basics of histology, histopathology and cytology. These teaching activities are divided into lectures and practical exercises. The instruction of anatomy takes place during the first years of the Bachelor degree and Master's degree studies, while the lectures and practical exercises in pathological anatomy are assigned to the second year of the Bachelor degree and Master's degree programmes. Instruction in these theoretical subjects is largely aimed at the degree programmes Medical Laboratory Technician, Physiotherapy, Radiology Assistant, and the degree programmes General Nurse, Obstetrics, Medical Rescue Worker, Public Health Care and Social Work for Health Care. Students of the Bachelor degree programme Medical Laboratory Technician and students of the Master's graduate degree programme Laboratory Examination Methods in Public Health Care attend practical training at the Institute of Pathological Anatomy.
